PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - A special ceremony was held Monday at Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City as Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor and more than 100 law enforcement officers took the oath of office.
The ceremony was emotional at times as people spoke about the sacrifices officers have to make.
Russell County District Attorney Ken Davis was the guest speaker and offered this piece of advice to the officers.
"Enforce the law, but remember enforcing the law is only part of the job," Davis said. "The rest of that job is being good to your family, friends, your neighbors and the communities you serve."
Judge Michael Bellamy administered the oath.
Some of the law enforcement departments represented included communications, animal control, and the reservists.
