PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - On Monday morning, people showed up in east Alabama for a special march in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The Phenix City-Russell County Democrat Conference led the way, starting their march at the Russell County Jail.
Alabama Democrat Conference member Joseph Williams says Dr. King's legacy is something we should never forget.
"This is to keep people aware of what happened in the past so we can move over to the future," Williams said. "You gotta know where you been in order to know where you're going and Martin Luther King did so much for our people or for people in general and this is something that we should never forget."
