COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The man shot multiple times outside of a gas station early Wednesday morning is scheduled to be released from the hospital on Thursday, according to a relative of the victim.
Lawrence Jackson, 28, was shot three times and grazed three times at the Chevron gas station located at 3161 Macon Road on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at about 12:05 a.m.
Jackson was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Columbus following the shooting and later transferred to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials have not identified a suspect or possible motive in the shooting at this time.
Jackson said he doesn't know who shot him. He told police that he was out earlier Tuesday evening celebrating his birthday, which was on Wednesday. He also told police he was putting air in his tire when he was shot.
