Opelika police looking for man accused of using counterfeit bills

OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) - The Opelika Police Department is searching for a man accused of using counterfeit money at Target in Tiger Town.  

Police responded to the store on Dec. 14 at approximately 3:15 p.m. in reference to someone passing counterfeit $100 bills. 

Officers learned upon arrival that the suspect had left the store in a gold-colored extended cab Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck (approximately a 2000 model) with an unknown license plate. 

The suspect, described as a black male wearing a bright orange jacket, was in the company of a small child. 

The suspect made a purchase using a counterfeit $100 bill. He then attempted a second purchase with another counterfeit $100 bill. When the cashier discovered the bill was counterfeit, the suspect left the store. 

The attached photographs are of the subject leaving the store.
