Memorial service held for 5 lost in tragic homicide

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Hundreds of family and friends gathered Thursday at New Community Church in LaGrange to remember the lives lost in a quintuple homicide last weekend.

Bill Burtron, the father of the family, served his country for 20 years. He was known to protect the family. Sheila Burtron grew up in the LaGrange community, and her son said she was the strongest women he ever met.

The family remembers Christie Lee as a special soul who managed to make everyone feel loved and like family. Bailey Burtron was a freshman at Troup High School.  She was known as a social butterfly who helped anyone she came in contact with.

Iiaonna Green, 18, is remembered as a musical genius with many talents who wanted to enlist in the Army as a nurse.

People donated more than $2,500 through that GoFundMe account to help the families of the murder victim in their time of need. They are looking to raise more than $7,000.

If you would like to help the families you can call 1-866-902-2265, or make check or money order payable to:
