Organizations spend Valentine's Day giving back to the community

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Some people in Columbus spent their Valentine's Day giving back to the community.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sponsored a day of service that included cleaning up yards, writing letters to soldiers, and serving meals to the homeless.

Organizers say the day of service is just part of a youth conference involving teens from Georgia and Alabama.

The Valley Rescue Mission and Adopt a Soldier were also partners for the event.
