COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - As graduation approaches, the faculty at Shaw High School wants to make sure there are no empty seats.
More than 300 hundreds seniors attended the Raiders to Graduate ceremony at Shaw on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
Principal Michael Barden says during this time of the year some students lack the motivation to finish strong, and this ceremony is a reminder for students to avoid senioritis.
He says this program helps students stay on track with their grades and has yielded positive results in the past.
Muscogee County School Superintendent David Lewis also spoke at Wednesday's ceremony.
Seniors at Shaw are scheduled to graduate in May. Shaw is also WTVM's partner in education.
