COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) - A Columbus sports team teamed up with a local organization Tuesday night to help raise money for children in our area.
The Columbus Cottonmouths and Children's Miracle Network at Midtown Medical Center joined forces for the annual "Tip-A-Snake" silent auction event.
The event at Green Island Hills Country Club featured Cottonmouth players as servers waiting on guests and working for tips that went towards the Children's Miracle Network.
Players were tipped to sing, juggle and dance to raise even more money. Scott's Miracle Riders attended the fundraiser and even tipped $100 per Rider for players to do the Chicken Dance.
"This is my second year doing it," said Nielsson Arcibal, who plays right winger for the Cottonmouths. "Last year was a lot of fun, a lot of singing, lot of dancing, you know, just a good time."
This is the eighteenth year the Cottonmouths have hosted this event, and Tuesday's theme was "Dancing with the Snakes."
The silent auction was held throughout the event with proceeds that also went towards Children's Miracle Network.
Last Tuesday, the Cottonmouths also hit the ice with dozens of kids from Children's Miracle Network to help promote the event.
