COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus hospice facility has found a unique way to raise money for Relay for Life.
Gentiva Hospice held its first ever chili and soup cook off at its location at the Brookstone Centre Parkway Friday afternoon.
10 different soups and chilies were part of the competition. A few judges had the difficult task of deciding which one was the best.
Relay for Life events are life-changing cancer fundraising events that help communities across the globe fight back against cancer.
"Being a leader in home hospice care in our community we wanted to give back to our community through Relay for Life. We take care of many patients in this area. So we have partnered with Relay for Life and this provides us a great opportunity for us to do this," DaNae lacy-Watts said from Gentiva Hospice.
Soup and chili was not the only thing on the menu as employees also got a chance to have some sweets which included, cupcakes, cookies and cakes.
