COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Early voting continues in Muscogee County on the proposed SPLOST tax fund school district projects.
Over the weekend, those for and against the penny sales tax tried to get their message out to voters.
The Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax would raise about $200 million through five years to pay for several school improvement projects, including a new Spencer High School.
The next public forum on SPLOST is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3 at 6 p.m. at Gentian High School.
If you want to cast your ballot early you can do so at the Citizens Service Center from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Friday until March 13. You can also vote this Saturday, March 7 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Voters go to the polls on March 17.
