COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Runners and walkers gathered Saturday morning to run for a good cause at the 28th annual Open Door Classic.
The event benefits the Open Door ministry which is an organization aimed at helping those living in poverty. Their programs are designed to help people move to a higher state of living.
"The support we get today helps carry us for quiet while our different ministries, 95 cent of every dollar that we raise goes directly into the ministries of open door," Kim Jenkins said, directory of Open Door Community House.
Nearly 500 people attended this year's event including members from local churches and businesses.
