FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - Approximately 70 soldiers assigned to Basic Combat Training were involved in a one-vehicle accident while returning from church services on Sand Hill on Sunday, March 8 at 12:30 p.m.

As of Monday afternoon, all but three of the 70 basic combat training soldiers have returned to training, with two still remaining at Midtown Medical Center and one transported to the Medical Center in Macon.

The vehicle tipped over while making a turn, seriously injuring one soldier, who was evacuated with nine others to the Columbus Medical Center.

None of the injuries have been reported as life-threatening.

A preliminary report indicates the truck the soldiers were riding in was overloaded.

No further information is available at this time. The accident is under investigation.
