COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - One Columbus event gave young men in the community some important advice in growing up Tuesday night.
Amerigroup hosted a young men's self-empowerment event at the Columbus Public Library.
The event was a chance for local young men to better understand their responsibilities and roles in growing up, along with hearing some important life lessons.
Among the topics discussed were personal health and relationships with women.
Event organizers said this was a chance for an older generation to pass along their wisdom to a younger generation.
"You have to be the beacon of light for the next generation to come up and we can give them those little nuggets to help them out and be a better people what this is all about," explained emcee Baby J.
Several community leaders were in attendance at the event, including representatives from Aflac and Synovus, and Muscogee County Sheriff John Darr.
