AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - As spring break and prom approaches, students at one school are learning about the consequences of alcohol abuse.
The program, "Under Age, Under Arrest" was put on Friday for the seniors at Auburn High School.
Students were shown images of how alcohol affects the body. They also saw the crashes and injuries of people who were the victims of drunk driving.
The program is conducted all over the state. Guest speaker Carolyn Tyuc, who lost her son to a drunk driver, talked about the importance of not drinking underage.
"To me it's about making the right decision and understanding underage drinking as well as drinking and driving. I may not touch all the lives, but if I just touch one to get them to understanding the consequences of underage drinking as well as drinking and driving," Carolyn Tyuc stated.
Following the program some students signed a pledge to be alcohol free until 21. "Under Age, Under Arrest" is presented by the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
