COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - An initiative is underway in Columbus to make the city a more "livable" place.
Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley has invited to Columbus two well-known experts in urban design.
They represent the New York City office of the world-renowned Gehl Architects of Denmark.
For the last two days, the experts have been meeting with local residents to hear what they think about city.
"We heard a lot of people talking about the amazing river which has these incredible urban rapids which is a pretty amazing place I have not seen in many places. A lot of people talked about the extraordinary things that are happening in Uptown," Matthew Lister said.
The architects will use that public feedback for suggestions to city leaders on how to improve public spaces and public life in Columbus.
