COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus Police Department is investigating after a suspect or suspects took copper from a rental property.
On March 17 at about 2:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of Brighton Road in reference to a copper theft.
Upon arrival, the victim reported that a copper pipe worth approximately $5,000 was stolen from his rental property at that address. There was also an estimated damage of less than $500 to the front door where the suspect or suspects forcibly entered.
A neighbor stated that she had seen a black Jeep Cherokee parked at the house two or three times throughout the afternoon with one black female and three black male occupants. However, the neighbor stated she never saw them enter the residence.
No further information is available at this time. This case remains under investigation by the Columbus Police Department.
