COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - While many are excited to see the planes high in the sky for the Thunder in the Valley Air show, it's also your chance to witness American history on display.
This year, a mobile 9/11 memorial is traveling to Columbus and you can witness it firsthand.
The "9/11 Never Forget" mobile exhibit was started by the family of a Stephen Siller, a New York Firefighter in 2013, to honor his memory and pay tribute to others who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
The Mobile Exhibit serves as tool to educate youth about the historic events of that day.
It is a high-tech 53-foot tractor trailer which unfolds into a 1,000 square foot exhibit, with interactive education and artifacts such as steel beams from the towers, documentary videos and recordings of first responder radio transmissions by New York firefighters.
See if for yourself this weekend at the air show.
