(ABC News) - Little League World Series prodigy Mo'ne Davis is shocking the world again with her response to a nasty tweet by a college baseball player.

Davis told ESPN that she emailed Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania to request it reinstate first baseman Joey Casselberry after he was kicked off the team.

Although Casselberry called Davis a crude name in a tweet while criticizing the Disney Channel for making a movie about her, she feels he should be given a second chance.

"I mean everyone makes mistakes and everyone deserves a second chance. I mean, I know he didn't mean it in that type of way," Davis said on Sportscenter on Monday. "I know right now he's really hurt and I know how hard he worked to get to where he is right now. And so, I mean it was pretty hurt[ful] on my part, but I know he's hurt even more."

Despite Davis' request to have Casselberry reinstated, Bloomsburg University says it "stands firm" on the decision while appreciating her level of maturity.
