Facebook to soon introduce looking back feature

(WTVM/WXTX) – People often use Timehop to see pictures from the past on #ThrowbackThursday, but now Facebook is rolling out a new feature to help you look back.

The new feature, called On This Day, allows you to look back at things you have been tagged in on or posted on Facebook. On This Day shows past status updates and photos from that particular day in the past, and only you will see them unless you decide to share this on your News feed.

When you are on the page, you can subscribe to notifications so you will be alerted when you have a post. The new feature will also allow you to 

The feature is gradually being released and will appear as a bookmark on your news feed when it's available. 

According to December 2014 data released by Facebook, there was an average of 890 million daily active users.
