COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A student from Northside High organized a tournament at Maple Ridge Golf Club for a great cause.

A Day on the Green for the Green was put together by 17-year-old Hannah Holland to raise awareness and funds for fragile x syndrome, which is a genetic disorder, according to the Center for Disease Control.

With the help of family, friends and social media the event was a success.

Holland says she was inspired by a friend from her church who suffers from the disease to organize the event. She says it took months to organize.
