COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A high ranking Georgia politician paid a visit to Columbus.
Senator Johnny Isakson served as the keynote speaker at the Columbus Board of Realtors' Luncheon on Wednesday.
He discussed the current state of the industry, drawing from his current position in the Senate as well as his own extensive background as President of Northside Realty for 20 years.
Isakson told News Leader 9 that real estate helped him get started in politics.
"Real Estate is where I earned my living in life and where I built my platform to ultimately go into public service so these people are very special to me. The Columbus Board of Realtors is a great board of realtors and my friends here are great folks and I'm glad to break bread with them today," Isakson stated.
Isakson also said that times are getting better for realtors following the recession in 2008 and that he encourages them to go out and do business while the climate is good.
