HARRIS COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a car accident that left two people dead in Harris County on Friday.
Authorities say the accident happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. on State Route 103 near mile marker 6.
This was a head-on collision and investigators say the deaths were due to the impact of the two vehicles.
Georgia State Patrol officials have identified the victims as 48-year-old David Scott Zortman of Atlanta and 45-year-old Carolyn Elizabeth Rivera of Columbus. There were no other passengers in those cars.
GSP officials said Zortman was driving a 2009 Jeep Wrangler and crossed the center lane, crashing head-on into the 2004 Lincoln Navigator driven by Rivera.
