Man arrested for laying drag

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A man was taken to the Muscogee County Jail on several charges on Thursday April 2 around 7:25 p.m.

A witness observed a man spinning tires on the 4200 block of Chalfonte Dr.

According to police reports, 25-year-old Chris Turner had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage that registered .136 on the intoxilyzer.

He was then followed to Acacia Drive and Rosemont Drive on a skateboard. Turner told the officer he was driving an orange 1977 Chevrolet Nova. He was very unsteady on his feet, his speech was slurred and he was confused. Turner was arrested for DUI, laying drag, no state tag and no proof of insurance.

Police say he also possessed a small bag of marijuana with a street value of $15. The bag fell from his pocket as he was entering the back seat of the Patrol's vehicle.
