Churches celebrate Good Friday in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Some local Christians are celebrating Good Friday.

Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Columbus welcomed pastors from all local churches to read scriptures about the crucifixion and all of the last saints this on Friday afternoon.

Each pastor spoke for about 15 to 20 minutes. Nicholas Hull with Trinity Episcopal Church says embracing all of the churches in the area is important.

"Reaching out to our neighbors, the Methodist, the Baptist, the A.M.E. Church and inviting them to come in and provide their unique theology style reminds us that the church is actually much bigger than we see on Sunday's," Hull stated.

Hull also says a steady crowd of people was at the church observing Good Friday. Trinity Episcopal Church invites everyone as they celebrate the Great Vigil.

That service will be held on Saturday April 4 at 8 p.m. at Linwood Cemetery.
