PAWS Humane announces 3rd Annual Furry 5k Fun Run & Walk

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Lace up those tennis shoes, stretch your legs and gather up the kids, furry or otherwise, for PAWS Humane' s 3rd Annual Furry 5K.

The 5K will be held on Sunday, April 12 at 2 p.m. at Cooper Creek Park in Columbus, Ga.

The Furry 5K is unique being one of the only races in the Columbus area that encourages participants to run or walk with their dogs. The race will begin at 2 p.m. and will be followed by awards and the chance for participants to visit pet-related vendor booths.

The Furry 5K will be a fun event for the whole family, a time to increase awareness of PAWS Humane and raise money to help save more homeless pets.

"Community support is critical to our success and we couldn't continue to save as many companion animals without the support," said Director of Marketing, Missy McClure. "The Furry 5K encourages people to support a terrific cause and enjoy this time with their families, 2-legged and 4-legged. All funds raised through the event will go to help support the shelter pets of PAWS Humane."
