Man arrested in connection to Phenix City shooting death

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - An arrest has been made in the early morning shooting on Monday, April 13 in Phenix City

Miguel Caban, 24, of Phenix City was arrested at about 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14 on outstanding warrants for murder and attempted murder charges. 

Caban was located at the Colony Inn on Victory Drive in Columbus, Ga. and was taken into custody without incident. He was arrested by members of the US Marshals Gulf Coast Task Force and the Middle District of Georgia US Marshals Office.   

He is currently being held at the Muscogee County Jail awaiting extradition to Alabama.  

Caban is charged with shooting 29-year-old Leon Harmon and another person at Richardson Lounge in Phenix City shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday. 

Harmon later died of multiple gunshot wounds. The other victim was treated and released from Midtown Medical Center. 

This is an active investigation, and no further information is available for release at this time.
