COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday that Brian D. Anderson, Sr. will serve as the next President and Chief Executive officer of the Chamber.
He will fill the position no later than June 1, 2015. Anderson currently serves as the President and CEO of the Greater Dalton Georgia Chamber. He will also replace Mike Gaymon who served as the Chamber's CEO for over 25 years and retired in 2014.
"We are very excited about having Brian take the reins of the Chamber. Columbus is very fortunate to have recruited someone with Brian's cast and varied Chamber, business, political and military background and we are confident he will lead this Chamber forward," Troy Woods said, President and CEO of TSYS and Chair of the Search Committee.
Anderson has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC. He also served as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army prior to working within the Coca-Cola organization.
He also completed the Georgia Tech Basis Economic Development courses and the Georgia Academy for Economic Development course.
"I am very grateful for the opportunity to have served the Greater Dalton Chamber community, however Heather and I are excited about our new adventure in Columbus," Anderson said.
Anderson also says that this position is an opportunity to lead a larger Chamber organization that has achieved a five star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber.
