FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - More than a dozen female soldiers are preparing for some intense training at Fort Benning on Monday.
Twenty women and 400 of their male counterparts begin a nine-week Ranger Course on Monday morning.
As of Monday afternoon, 78 men and three women did not qualify this morning; an additional women did not proceed due to personal reasons.
The women qualified by completing a two-week Ranger Training Assessment Course earlier this month. The gender-integrated training was approved by the Army secretary.
