Central High head baseball coach resigns

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - Phenix City Superintendent Randy Wilkes confirmed Central High School's head baseball coach Roy Dixon has resigned.

Coach Dixon, who served for three years as the school's head baseball coach, officially resigned on Wednesday, April 22.

In a press release, Superintendent Wilkes thanked Dixon for his time as head coach:

"On behalf of Phenix City Schools, we extend our appreciation and heartfelt thanks to Coach Roy Dixon for 3 years of service as head baseball coach. Coach Dixon is respected by players and fans alike. He is a mentor and role model to student-athletes. Phenix City Schools wish Coach Dixon and his family well in all of their endeavors."

The release did not give a reason for Dixon's resignation. Phenix City Schools stated they are searching for a new head baseball coach.
