COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - High School students from across the Chattahoochee Valley take part in a patriotic ceremony at the National Infantry Museum.
Hundreds showed up for the Massing of the Colors today which combines the colors and color guards of military units and veterans, civic and patriotic organizations.
More than 30 representatives from the Georgia Army National Guard, the Naval Operation Support Center, several local universities, high schools, and emergency departments took part.
"So it's a chance for all of the patriotic organizations around town to show their support all these young soldiers that are graduating basic training and one station unit training and going on to protect all of us," U.S. Army Col. Jon House, Ret., said.
Friday's ceremony was hosted by the Maneuver Center of Excellence's 198th Infantry Brigade along with the Columbus Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars.
