2 arrested in connection to Crossroads Barbeque burglary

On April 23, the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested two suspects in connection to a burglary last month.

Christopher Allen Wilson, 18, of Phenix City and a 17-year-old male are charged with third degree burglary, unlawful breaking and entering an automobile, and two counts of theft of property in the third degree.

On March 28, the owner of Crossroads Barbeque in Smiths Station reported someone had broken into the business during the night.

Officials say it appeared that the offenders had used an axe to chop through a steel back door to gain access. The suspects had stolen an undisclosed amount of money from a cash register drawer inside the business.

According to the victim, the offenders also had stolen a bag of miscellaneous tools from one of their company vehicles that was parked in their parking lot.

Wilson is currently being held in the Lee County Detention Facility on an $8,000 bond.

The juvenile was processed by investigators and released to the custody of his parents. His criminal cases will be prosecuted in Lee County Juvenile Court.
