Auburn gears up for City Fest this weekend

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Rain or shine the Auburn's 15th annual City Fest will go on this weekend.

There is no question that this is a family friendly event that attracts more than 15,000 people each year to beautiful Kiesel Park, just off highway 14.

"We have about 80 arts and crafts vendors and about 150 vendors total so we are going to have a ton of arts and crafts so make sure to bring your checkbook with you, we are also going to have live entertainment,” Mayor Ellen Dixon said.

This year's musical theme is the blues. The Alabama Blues Project, Soul Connection and Big Swamp Blues Band will all take the stage to entertain the crowds.

Check out the city's Facebook page first thing Saturday morning for weather updates.

This year, an imagination station for kids will be set up, with racing pigs from North Carolina.

Bounce houses, a huge sand box, face painting; a petting zoo, horse rides and tons of other fun activities will be available for the kids.

City Fest is a supporter of local artists who will have booths set up selling their one of a kind creations.

There will also be plenty of food vendors ready to serve up breakfast and lunch and gates will be opened at 9 a.m.
