Carver High hosts Talent Hunt Program

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Local high school students had the chance to show off their talents in a special competition on Monday night.

The Lambda Iota Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity held its annual talent show at Carver High School.

The group awarded scholarships to deserving students as they competed in several categories at the show.

They will receive about $12,000 in scholarship during the month of May to the various recipients.

"We send this out to all the high schools in the bi-city area so we are working to get more just patient from the various schools," said Chairman Abdu Hassan.

The group has about 80 currently active members in Columbus and 50,000 nationwide.
