CHATTAHOOCHEE COUNTY (WTVM) – On Wednesday April 29 the U.S. Marshals located Christopher Lee Barringer inside a residence in Phenix City, AL.
Barringer was arrested but sustained additional injuries prior to being arrested. He is receiving treatment for his injuries at a local hospital and is being held on warrants from multiple agencies in Alabama and Georgia.
On Wednesday April 27 the Chattahoochee County K-9 Unit attempted to stop Christopher Lee Barringer for traffic violations, but Barringer fled from the deputy at speeds over 120 miles per hour.
He eventually lost control of the motorcycle he was driving on Felica Ruth Road in Chattahoochee County and 29-year-old Barringer ran into a wooded area.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene including GSP, Richland P.D. and Chattahoochee County Fire Rescue.
Barringer was located after a short manhunt, but he was then transported to Midtown Medical Center and then escaped around noon.
Christopher Barringer of Smith Station, AL was wanted for theft by receiving stolen property, theft by receiving stolen property from another state, felony fleeing, attempting to elude police and for multiple traffic violations.
The Chattahoochee County Sheriff's office would like to thank everyone who provided tips that helped locate Barringer.
