Montgomery woman arrested in connection to 2013 vehicle thefts

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - A Montgomery woman has been arrested in connection to several auto burglaries and thefts


Kalifth A. Johnson, 32, was arrested by the Auburn Police Division on Tuesday, April 28.

She was charged with six counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle, five counts of Theft of Property Second Degree, and one count of Theft of Property First Degree.

Detectives initiated an investigation into the incident after receiving reports that some unknown individual or individuals damaged and made unlawful entry into several vehicles and stole property from them while they were parked on N. Gay Street, E. Glenn Avenue and College Street.

Johnson was subsequently developed as a suspect and detectives obtained warrants for her arrest charging her with multiple counts of breaking and entering of a vehicle and theft of property.

She was incarcerated in the Elmore County Jail on unrelated charges prior to being taken into custody by Auburn Police on Tuesday. Johnson was transported to the Lee County Jail and will be eligible for a $38,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are anticipated.
