Police: Manchester Expy. Dollar General robbed late Saturday

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - On May 2 at approximately 9:38 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the Dollar General at 2602 Manchester Expressway in reference to an armed robbery, according to a Columbus Police Department media release. 

A store employee reported that two black males entered the store, pointed a handgun at him and demanded money from the cash register.

One of the suspects then removed the till from the register. After removing the till, both suspects fled the scene towards Rosemont Drive.

The first suspect was described as a black male, 6 feet tall, last seen wearing a light gray zip-up hoodie with black writing on the front, dark pants and a red hat with a white "M" on the front of the hat.

The second suspect was described as a black male 5'8", last seen wearing a dark gray hoodie, dark gray sweatpants and black flip flops.

The Columbus Police Department Robbery/Assault Unit assumed the investigation.
