COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - An investigation of the alleged sexual assault of a Phenix City infant led to the arrest of a Columbus man, a media release from the Phenix City Police Department says.
On May 2 at 1:20 p.m. ET, the Phenix City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division responded to the Midtown Medical Center in Columbus in reference to the sexual assault of a 9-month-old infant that reportedly occurred in Phenix City.
An investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Joshua Michael Teal, 19, of Columbus.
Teal was arrested on May 2 at approximately 3:30 p.m. ET without incident and charged with first-degree sodomy and first-degree domestic violence assault, both class A felonies.
Teal is currently being held at the Russell County Jail.
