Tow to Go readies for Cinco de Mayo celebrations

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Before you break out the margaritas and head off to you fiestas on Tuesday, AAA and BudLight are encouraging partiers to take advantage of Tow to Go designated drivers.

Both members and non-members of AAA can call To to Go for a ride anytime on Tuesday, May 5 through 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 6. The service includes a free ride and transport of your car to a safe spot within 10 miles of your pick-up.

"The Tow to Go program is an effective way to promote the use of Designated Drivers and help prevent impaired driving," said Kathy Casso, Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility for Anheuser-Busch. "We are proud to partner with AAA and their roadside assistance drivers to help keep our roads safe."

For Georgia, the Tow-To-Go number is: (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246.

Since beginning in 1998, Tow to Go has safely removed more than 24,000 impaired drivers from the roads, according to a press release.

The service is designed to be used as a last resort. It is offered based on availability of AAA drivers and tow trucks during times of high call volume.

This service is not available in Alabama, so partygoers in Alabama are encouraged to have a designated driver.
