TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - The Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Department is conducting an investigation into the burglary and theft of property that occurred at the Reeltown School on May 6 and made two arrests in connection to the crime, according to a news release.
The investigation reveals that on May 6 at approximately 3:35 a.m., two unknown individuals entered into the Reeltown School and stole musical instruments with a value of $2,400.
As a result of the investigation Joshua Scott McCarty, 27, and James Edward Cooper III, 27, both of 3456 Cobb Road in Notasulga, AL, were arrested.
Both have been charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree theft of property. Both men are being detained in the Tallapoosa County Jail pending bond.
All the property that was reported stolen has been recovered and the investigation continues at this time.
