Police: husband stabs wife at Glovis plant

VALLEY, AL (WTVM) - Officials are investigating after a confirmed stabbing Friday evening at the Glovis plant in Valley, Ala.

Chief Tommy Weldon with the Valley Police Department said the incident took place after Preston Rowell of Opelika followed his wife into the building, where she works.

Rowell allegedly started hitting his wife while holding a knife in his hand. The wife received multiple stab wounds on her face and head, and her right thumb has a deep cut.

She was transported to EAMC-Lanier for treatment. We're told she was not seriously injured.

Chief Weldon said Rowell was taken into custody shortly after the incident. He is charged with second degree domestic violence.
