COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - As the weather heats up and the school year comes to an end, kids are heading outside riding their bikes or playing in the pool or lake.
Pam Fair with Safe Kids Columbus stopped by the morning show on Wednesday to tell us about an upcoming event where they will work to make sure your child's summer activities are fun, but also safe.
The Safe Kids Day/Bike Rodeo is Saturday, June 6 at the Macon Road Library from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.!
At Safe Kids Day, kids and parents can learn all about safety from fire prevention, to water and sports safety, to pedestrian, home, bike and vehicle safety, health screenings, and poison prevention too!
Kids bring your bikes because, while supplies and sizes last, you can get a FREE bike helmet at the bike rodeo. Plan to join in for "Gear Up Games" - relay contests, roll your bike and a frozen t-shirt contest.
Parents take your child to each fun safety station for a chance to win booster seats, car seats, life jackets, bikes, a brand new TV!
Kids don't miss the Fire Safety House, police boat, the red cross pillow case kids training, and a chance to video yourself at the "Kid Reporter" news desk!
Help us make every kid a safe kid!
Remember, the more you lean, the more you can enter to win great prizes and safety gear.
