FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - Fort Benning observed the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday morning.
Several people attended the event, which was held at the Supper Club of the Benning Conference Center.
This year's guest speaker was U.S. Army Central Command Chaplain Marc S. Gauthier.
Garrison Chaplin Tom Waynick said the prayer breakfast is a good reminder to those in the armed forces that they are not alone.
"Certainly today we live in a very complex and difficult time," Waynick said. "It's good to be reminded that we're not alone. Not only do we have each other, but we do have the almighty God."
The National Prayer Breakfast movement began in America during World War II.
