Monkey Joe's holds campaign to raise money for kids with cancer

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Monkey Joe's announced their partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a non-profit dedicated to finding cures for all kids with cancer.

Money Joe's is a children's entertainment center filled with indoor jumps, slides and obstacle courses. They will host events and promotions to raise funds for ALSF. They will also donate a percentage of all June lemonade sales to the organization.

"According to the American Childhood Cancer Organization, every year an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide," Sonny Crumpton stated, brand leader at Money Joe's.

Crumpton also says that he hopes the campaign will encourage parents and children to join Money Joe's in building awareness and raising funds for a cause that affects so many lives.

Participating locations will host an in-store lemonade stand to boost ALSF's fundraising efforts during Alex's Lemonade Days, which will be from June 12 until June 14.

This initiative invites supporters across the country to host lemonade stands during the three day period in an effort to raise $1 million for the cause. Customers can participate in a friendly competition by voting for their favorite lemonade stands on the Monkey Joe's Facebook page.

Additionally, everyone is welcome to make donations to the Monkey Joe's ALSF fundraising page.

About Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF)

ALSF emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, ALSF has raised more than $100 million toward fulfilling Alex's dream of finding a cure, funding over 475 pediatric cancer research projects nationally. For more information on ALSF, visit
