COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM/WXTX) – A popular Columbus pizza place is reopen for business after a truck drove into the building April 11, forcing the owners to close for repairs.
Deorio's, located in the Cross Country Plaza on Macon Road, have been busy with construction for about a month now trying to get the place ready for customers after that accident.
"It's been a grueling 5 ½ weeks," Deorio's manager Laura Jenkins said. "I was here every day of the construction watching it step by step so it was perhaps longer for me. But the day finally arrived a few days ago and we were able to open."
If you remember, Kenneth Wayne Partridge, whose truck crashed into the restaurant, is also the same man who was shot and killed in Lee County days after the crash.
