(WTVM/WXTX) - With school out, the unofficial start of summer is upon us. Many folks will fire up the grill for those summer cookouts, and in a new study, the state of Georgia was recently named the fifth best state for BBQ.

The TripAdvisor study was based on millions of travel reviews and opinions from the TripAdvisor online community. 

Here are the Top 10 states for BBQ:

  1. Tennessee
  2. Texas
  3. Missouri
  4. North Carolina
  5. Georgia
  6. Florida
  7. South Carolina
  8. California
  9. Virginia
  10. New York

The second part of the study named the Top 10 BBQ Restaurants in the country.

Joe's BBQ in Blue Ridge, GA was named the top BBQ restaurant in the nation. The Georgia restaurant beat out competition from Kansas, Missouri, and Florida.
