COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - One local college is serving up a new area of study for its students.
On Thursday, Columbus Technical College cut the ribbon for its new commercial kitchen, where the college will be starting a Culinary Arts Program for their students in the fall.
The school is partnering with Direct Services for the initiative, a group that provides meals to low income people around the area.
"I think a partnership really works especially when both entities are non-profits are they're looking to develop the better good for the community. We're both interested in helping low income people achieve their dreams," Lorette Hoover said, president of Columbus Technical College.
Students will be able to obtain associate degrees through the school's new Culinary Arts Program.
