Stolen vehicle involved in connection to Fort Benning shooting

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – It has been confirmed that one of the vehicles involved in the Fort Benning shooting was reported stolen on Wednesday, the day before the incident.

On May 27, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Northstar Drive concerning a stolen four door 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The owner of the Jeep spotted his stolen vehicle on Fort Benning on Thursday and that is when the chase happened. 

Fort Benning officials flattened the tires of both vehicles and that is when shots were fired. The driver of the stolen car, Celetus Anderson, was arrested.

The suspects in the other car got away. Stay tuned to News Leader 9 for this developing story.
