COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The robbery and murder trial of a Columbus jewelry store manager is expected to begin on Monday.

Last week, a witness took the stand as part of the pre-trial motions for the Steve Toms case.

A Mexican goods store employee, described being pulled by the neck and being threatened as three men robbed the store, which was all captured on video.

Officials say this incident is connected to the murder of Toms.

One investigator took the stand saying he believes the attack was planned. He added that the burglars knew about a secret room in the store.

The trial has been scheduled to start at 9 a.m., but may be delayed due to pre-trial motions.
