COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The oldest structure in Columbus has been relocated.
The Historic Columbus Foundation, along with help from the local Eagle Scouts, moved the Trapper Cabin from the 700 block of Broadway to Heritage Park.
Organizers say the cabin is an important part of history and more people will be able to see it at it's new location.
"It's a very important part of our history and it's also an educational tool. I remember when it was over there and it was not getting exposure. Not many people knew it was back there and over here is the Coca Cola Space Science museum and it's in Heritage Park," Murphy Pound said, a volunteer.
The Trapper Cabin was built in the 1800's and there's only three left in Georgia.
