Most Wanted: Brian Voorhees

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Muscogee County Sheriff officials need your help locating a wanted sex offender.

Brian Voorhees, 35, is a sex offender on the run and his failure to register as a sex offender is going to land him back behind bars.

According to Muscogee County Sheriff Deputy Jeffrey Hackey, Voorhees is no stranger to crime.

"He was originally arrested for aggravated child molestation, child molestation and two counts of failing to register as a sex offender," Deputy Hackey said.

Voorhees stands 6' 1" and weighs 155 pounds. In addition to a tattoo on his neck, Voorhees is also sporting a shaved head with a dark beard.

"I think the tattoos would give him away but as you can see in the picture he has a jacket on and he could cover up his neck pretty easy but he has a pretty distinctive look to me," Deputy Hackey said.

That look is what police are hoping would help them nab their guy.

So look closely at this photo of Brian Voorhees and bring his days on the run to an abrupt halt.

However, police urge you not to approach him if you spot him.

"You never know what a person is going to do," Deputy Hackey said. "They may not have ever done anything violent in their life before but when they know that we're looking for them it's just like an animal backed into a corner, you never know what they night do in order to get out of that corner."

If you know where Brian Voorhees is hiding out you are urged to call the Muscogee County Sheriff's Department.

The number is (706) 653-4225 and remember, you don't have to give your name.
